Dsquared² Pillows
How about a little runway fashion for some home goods inspiration? Dsquared² always delivers high fashion, high energy, high glamour looks that I covet each season. I've taken some looks from the women's Spring Summer 2013 show and created some pillows to toughen up every glamour girl's bedroom.
Like above, where I pretty literally translated the look. "Catan" is the last name of the Dsquared² twins who own and design the line (for the fashion challenged readers). Print it on a pillow and border it with heavy gold chain, either as an actual application or a screen print on the fabric. Get really wild and run some grosgrain ribbon through the chain. Pair it with some simple black quilted leather pillows for the perfect Dsquared² vibe.
Here's some more ideas...
Love the business-minded lady like look of this fuchsia polka dot fabric. I've used it as the upholstery material for this pillow and adorned it with heavy metal crosses, like the runway look you see.
And one of my favorite elements from this show was the studded leather heart detail, shown here as dress straps and used on other looks as a harness over this snow leopard print (just like the pillow). The violet and black trim is gorgeous and makes a perfect border on another custom pillow idea.
With a great designer and a talented craftsman, these concepts could easily pulled off. These pillows would be perfect accents for a bold, fashionista's uptown loft. Pair them with bedding for pops of color or adorn a black velvet sofa with some tough chains and animal print to throw some attitude in the mix.
I love the idea that you can bring an element of metal into the room in such an unexpected way with chain and cross pillow appliques.
