The New Neutral: Blush
I'm currently working on a residence in Berkeley, California with a client who has a deep affection for blush and everything that goes with it - black, camel, ivory, etc. Although the project is only really beginning, the concept based around shades of pink has proven to be really exciting from a design perspective.
It's led me to realize what a stylish and interesting neutral alternative blush can be. After putting together a re-upholstery plan for some sofas using creams and blush fabrics, I played around with different accent fabrics for future toss pillows and every color worked. You can go Beverly Hills glam with green accents, subdued minimal with cream accents, romantic with mauves and reds or bohemian with navy and black. The options are endless.
There has been enough excitement to start a Pinterest board just based off this concept of my New Neutral. And I'd thought I'd share some interesting discoveries while sourcing for this Berkeley home.
Above is the Table de Milan by Atelier Biagetti. I love the way they've applied blush to a table detail that plays off the most natural element you can get - wood grain. It's like an up close detail of grain made up of blush, charcoal, shades of camel and brass.
Check out some more interesting finds below.
