Tom Bianchi Outdoor Space

My Tom Bianchi inspiration just keeps on running. But how can you translate literal inspiration into Interior Design? I'm going to give you some ideas using an outdoor space with Bianchi and Fire Island Pines in mind.

Above, is a pair of amazing 1950's doors from Paramount Studios available through 1st Dibs. Although it's not Columbia Pictures, where Bianchi was once employed as a corporate attorney, it's still the perfect conversation pieces to create some walls for an outdoor shower.

Below, is a simple line rendering of the concept.

You can see the area on the right dedicated to this shower concept. I love the bold pop of yellow against nature that this would create. And any weather damage would just add to the character.

I chose a planked style outdoor table by Sergio Rodrigues to evoke a seventies outdoor furniture vibe. Almost "Tiki". The table is accompanied by bright orange Offcut Stools by Tom Dixon (both below). Bright colors are seen a lot in Bianchi's work, especially now in Palm Springs. I chose orange especially after reading an interview with Bianchi where he said he was debating on painting a wall orange at one end of his backyard.

More seventies inspiration jumps into the design pool. Great outdoor pillows from One Kings Lane. Below from left to right; Lattice Outdoor Pillow in Orange $155, Set of Byzantine Pillows in Mustard $200, Set of Phul Pillows in Orange $260.

For some additional seating, and a place to work on your tan, why not add some folding deck chairs we are already familiar with? I first showed you the Gallant & Jones Deck Chairs during last month's Wild feature and the Tahiti Deck Chair. This time I've shopped both the Sauble and Jericho Deck Chairs as options.

There are a million ways you can accessorize the space; striped beach towels, floor pillows, a fire pit! I ran a Vintage Light String over the top of the space and took the Addison Hurricane from Crate & Barrel and filled it with Sex Wax for the surfers.
