Tom Ford Vignette

I am occasionally working for friends and family on Interior Design projects, but my new hobby is to find actual floor plans of residences in the Los Angeles area and create projects. It can be a lot of fun considering I work with no budget.

Here is one such example. I took a floor plan for an ocean front condo in Santa Monica and have been outfitting it in the style of Tom Ford for my month of Tom.

Above, is a rendering of an Entry vignette in the Master Bedroom. Below, a space plan for reference.

Now the fun part, let's take a look at the Ford inspired goods that make up this vignette.

Starting from the top, I chose the "Nightfly Buffet" from Y Living because it's lacquered dark wood finish mimics the casing of limited edition Tom Ford sunglasses and exclusive fragrances. This same finish can be seen on the cabinetry that make up Ford salons around the world. A buffet also provides a bit of storage.

The "Mohair Slate Rug" by the Rug Company is a glamorous and moody dark grey. It wouldn't be a Ford space without a lot of grey and chrome (a great choice for the walls in this space).

Finally, some accessories!

1. The "Sculptural Gold Leaf Mirror" is a bit cleaner than the ornate gilded mirrors you would see in a Ford salon. However, I wanted to pull from a different area of inspiration for the more traditional pieces. 2. Place some of your favorite Private Blends from Ford near the entry to dab on when you're walking out, or fragrantly welcome you to the space. The bottles are as gorgeous as a vase. 3. Here is the more traditional inspiration I wanted to pull from, which is Ford's childhood in New Mexico. The "Rare & Regal Cast Stone Native American Indian Chief Bust" is an awesome conversation piece that evokes a sense of masculinity and culture. 4. And the "Sabie Lamp" from Jayson Home follows suit. You may recognize it from my previous post of Tom Ford Inspired Home Furnishings and it's similarity to a Ford runway show.

Check out my Tom Ford Pinterest Board for an amazing amount of inspired Home Furnishings, Art and Photos. Seriously, it's amazing.
