Tom of Finland Dining Room

While we are inspired by Tom of Finland during my month of all things Tom, let's design a Dining Room with his working class, motorcycle fueled art as inspiration.

Above is a rough outlined rendering of the space. I've envisioned this space with an original Finland drawing working as an art installation. Covering an entire wall in a design scheme that I believe will definitely be my future Dining Room.

Now, let's build the room with some furnishings.

1. Sentinel Rug by Giles Deacon for the Rug Company, $172/sqft 2. Slab Dining Table Black by Tom Dixon, Price Upon Request 3. Pair of Wingback Chairs with Cushions, $9,500 4. Phare Projection Floor Lamp, $1,490 5. Fantastic Steel "Bones" of an Early Vintage Motorcycle, $4,800 6. Large Glass Ball Industrial Light, $2,250 each 7. Collection of French Mannequin Arms, $2,800 8. Baccarat Perfume Bottle, $1,500 9. Large and Rare Presentation Horn & Silver Beaker, $2,950 10. Slab Bench Black by Tom Dixon, Price Upon Request

Rough, industrial, and masculine pieces will fill the room. I've enlisted another Tom, Tom Dixon, to supply the Dining Table (2) using a coordinating Bench (10) on each side and some deconstructed Wingback Chairs (3) at each end of the Table. Obviously, I would have these cushions re-upholstered to coordinate with the design. I added a Floor Lamp (4) made from an actual motorcycle headlight at one end of the table to allow the table to act as a drawing desk when you're inspired by Finland.

Topping the table are a manly Presentation Cup (9) acting as a vase, some Vintage Cologne Bottles (8) and a French Mannequin Arm (7) which artists often use to help them sketch figures. Also, in the room is a Fantastic Steel "Bones" of an Early Vintage Motorcycle (5) for atmosphere.
